Our Story
Harbour Escape Rooms was born from a shared passion for storytelling, technology, and human connection. Founded in 2023 by three friends who met during their studies in Interactive Media at the University of Toronto, our journey began with a simple question: "What if we could create worlds where people don't just play games, but live adventures?"
The idea crystallized during a weekend retreat to Muskoka, where co-founders Alexandra Chen, Marcus Thompson, and Zara Okafor spent hours brainstorming over campfire conversations. They envisioned escape rooms that would push the boundaries of traditional entertainment, incorporating cutting-edge technology with meticulously crafted narratives that would transport players to entirely different realms.
After two years of intensive research, design, and development, we opened our doors in Toronto's vibrant Harbour District in early 2026. What started as a dream shared by three university friends has evolved into Canada's most innovative escape room destination, where every puzzle tells a story and every story creates lasting memories.
Today, Harbour Escape Rooms stands as a testament to the power of imagination and collaboration. We've welcomed over 3,500 adventurers through our doors, hosted countless corporate team-building events, and created magical experiences for families, friends, and colleagues from across Canada and beyond.
